As keen bird watchers ( from the kitchen window!) we are delighted to welcome a great variety of birds to the cottage garden. Sunflower seeds and peanuts are on offer throughout the day …for the birds!
In the summer of 2019 we had swallows nesting in the woodshed, swifts nesting all around the house up in the eaves and numerous sparrow nests everywhere. Buzzards and kites are regularly flying overhead and occasionally the sparrow hawk makes a speedy flight into the garden.
Numerous finches especially goldfinches come and enjoy the safety of the garden and their songs fill the air.
